Ireland will present a coordinated national presence at one of the world’s largest international property investment events, as the Government seeks to attract private capital to support the delivery of new homes.

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, has announced that Ireland will host an official pavilion at MIPIM 2026, the MarchĆ© International des Professionels de l’Immoblier, which takes place in Cannes from 9 to 12 March. The State-led initiative is aimed at promoting Ireland as a stable and attractive destination for residential and related development investment.

MIPIM is recognised as a key global forum for real estate capital, attracting more than 20,000 delegates with an estimated €4 trillion in assets under management. Attendees include international investors, funders, developers, professional advisers, senior policymakers and city leaders.

The Government has identified engagement with both domestic and international capital as a core priority under its new Housing Action Plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities 2025–2030. The plan targets the delivery of at least 300,000 new homes by 2030 and estimates that development finance of approximately €20 billion per year will be required to meet this level of output.

Against a backdrop of strong international competition for capital and recent declines in private investment flows into Ireland, the Department of Housing said the MIPIM presence represents an opportunity to actively promote Ireland’s housing pipeline, policy framework and development environment.

Speaking at the announcement, Minister Browne said Ireland was ā€œopen for businessā€ and focused on building housing ā€œat pace and scaleā€. He pointed to the combination of an updated housing strategy and what he described as Ireland’s stable investment environment as key elements of the State’s message to international investors.

The Ireland Pavilion at MIPIM 2026 will host a programme of panel discussions and information sessions focused on residential delivery, the operational environment for development, and long-term growth potential. The pavilion will be branded as a single national presence, bringing together public and private stakeholders.

The initiative is being overseen by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, working with the Department of Finance, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and the Housing Agency. Coordination with the private sector is being supported through industry bodies including Irish Institutional Property and Property Industry Ireland, alongside sponsorship from organisations across banking, development and professional services.

The Irish delegation will include Government representatives, State agencies, regional authorities, private sector partners and subject matter experts, reflecting what the Department described as a collaborative approach to attracting investment to support housing delivery.
